Click on any photo to enlarge F For more photos check out our Photo Gallery Links	*Welcome to Running Roosters Hunting Resort A hunting service for quail, pheasant, chukar and wild turkey just 6 miles East and 1 1/2 miles North of Columbus, Kansas and only 5 miles from the Missouri line or 15 miles from Oklahoma. 685 of some of the finest natural habitat along the Shawnee Creek which includes grain fields of corn, milo and sunflowers, natural bird fields and over 10 miles of filter strips. The perfect setting for a wing shooter. Running Roosters Hunting Resort raises all of our own quail, pheasant and chukar. We're looking to raise 35,000 quail for the 2008 season. s Running Rooster Hunting Resor**t is family owned and operated by Rex and Sandy Mercer. They have been accommodating hunters for the last 4 years as a business. Rex's family has been training dogs for 65 years, while Rex has been training himself for over 20 years. The family has tried every method new and old to find the best training methods available. Ron Mercer, Rex's father, assist with the guiding while Rex's sons, Garrett and Cass, are the expert bird cleaners.
	* Hunting Options, Licenses and Packages We offer various hunting options to accommodate our customers. All guided hunts include an experienced guide, trained bird dogs, birds dressed and a group photo. All hunts start at either 9:00 a.m. or 1:00 p.m.. You may bring your own dog if you prefer. You may also shoot any birds that have been left by other hunters at NO extra charge. Licenses: Controlled shooting permits can be bought at our clubhouse or online at www3.wildlifelicense.com/ks/start.php.** A Kansas resident or non-resident license is also acceptable. Anyone born after July 1, 1957 must present their hunters safety card issued from any state approved hunters safety course. All minors must be accompanied by an adult along with a signed consent form from a parent or guardian. * Each hunter must bring a "Hunter Orange" hat and vest to wear * No Larger than #6 shot is to be used * Cleaning room supplied for those wishing to clean their own birds * No Alcohol allowed * We will furnish bird dogs for your hunt or you may bring your own dog * Hunters are responsible for damage inflicted to preserve property, equipment and/or dogs. Packages: You may choose one of the packages below or we will customize a hunt for you. Appointments are required though. Bird cleaning available for all of the unguided hunts at $1.00 a bird. Cleaning room supplied for those wishing to clean their own birds. Everyone must buy a package. Minimum of 2 hunters per hunt. All pheasant field hunts are mixed birds. Corporate packages available. Sales Tax not included. Prices are subject to change. 1/2 Day Hunt * Guided basic hunt for 1/2 day $145 : 4 pheasants or 10 quail or 5 chukar * Unguided basic hunt for 1/2 day $90 : 4 pheasants or 10 quail or 5 chukar FALL 2008 SPECIAL 1/2 Day Unguided Hunts * 50 quail hunt for up to 5 hunters *$450.00* * 20 pheasants for up to 5 hunters *$450.00* NEW FOR FALL 2008 All day hunts start at 9:00 a.m. sharp, lunch (a home cooked meal with dessert) and bird cleaning included. Full Day Guided Hunts $290 per hunter: includes 20 Quail or,, 10 Chukar or 8 Pheasant Full Day Unguided Hunts $180 per hunter: includes 20 Quail or 10 Chukar or 8 Pheasant Extra birds available: Quail , Chukar or Pheasant *Reservations For reservations and additional information, call us. Deposits are non-refundable. Hunts can be rescheduled with 72 hour notice or unhuntable weather. If cancellations are received 30 days or more, prior to your hunt, deposits may be applied to a later hunt date, subject to availability, but hunts must be scheduled within the same hunting season. Bird Dogs, Training and Boarding Bird dogs for our guided hunts include Labrador Retrievers, Brittanys, German Shorthairs, English Pointers and English Setters.
